I’m no expert on this type of implant, but I don’t think it’s so much of a question of legal/illegal, but more wether approval has been given. The more important question is: Where would you get the implants that are not being manufactured as far as I know

it is just medical crade polypropylen thread. Since it is also used for suturation of wounds it only needs to be a the long version. And we all now from our own surgical suture that there is material (not only polypropylen) with different thickness and flexibility.
