Dont want to send it to the factory...cause its all porn....any idea on discrete data recovery services...

its 5TB of HC ...so I would like to save it

any ideas let me know..

Seagate external drives usually have a poor power supply (and controls), but fortunately there may be hope for the drive that's inside.
You should be able to open up the external housing, and take the drive out and connect it to the internal wiring of a PC.
The PC should have plenty of power and has its own controls. This may be able to get it back from the dead. This has worked for me a couple of times already.

It does require some computer knowledge though.

What is exactly fucked up ? Is it not recognized by your OS.

I wouldn't use a dock but rather the tool recommended by BooBie Vision https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/U3NV2SPATA/ and a good recovery tool like EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 7.5. There is a new version apparently of this tool.

And like Indy says. Seagate have the worst reputation when it comes to hard drives. And furthermore what were you thinking ? No backup at all ? Didn't you know what they say ? ONE backup = NO backup. You took it one step further it seems. Also in the future you could use free tools that warn you b4 you hard drive fails, like CrystalDiskInfo or Ashampoo HDD Control. I use them but there are more.

And when you buy a new HD use WD Red 6TB for example.
