crazy question re:inflatable boobs
« on: July 25, 2016, 08:31:55 pm »
Hi, all. I was having booby random thoughts lol.

I wonder why

we use saline to fill and maybe not something more gelatinous?
Yknow, like having the best of both worlds. Softer like sils but inflatable like saline.

Just a thought. :)

What do you mean?
Silicone implants are inserted with the silicone inside.
Saline implants are inserted with all the saline inside if it's prefilled
Saline implants are inserted empty and filled with the saline once inside the pocket during the surgery and sometimes even more after
Already performed:
-Total labiaplasty + hoodectomy
-Definitiv pubic hair removal
-First breast augmentation (create pockets)
To be performed:
-Second breast augmentation (for projection)
-Diet+fitness

How much force would be required to inject silicone through a 20 g needle? Actually we don't use liquid silicone anymore anyway, if it can be injected it can bleed out, so it has to be safe, like saline. Maybe if there were some kind of saline based compound  that had the properties of silicone until exposed to oxygen and then it would dissolve?? I'm not a chemist :\

I know there's a lot of logistical issues. lol I"m trying to think out of the box. It would be a lot more difficult to inject. It would also have to be more expensive than regular saline, and like you said, it would have to be like the cohesive silicone. If some chemist somewhere could figure this out, they could make some money. $$$.

I am thinking of a hypothetical implant that gives the best of both words-softer like silicone but injectable like saline.

That's right, double lumens. I remember that episode. I wish they couldve given her some comparable 3000ccs implants, thats if she wanted them. They looked so good when she was young.

I'm guessing the main reason is that you don't want anything else leaking into your body when the implant ruptures. Saline is safe in that regard and Silicone gel doesn't leak. The very reason liquid silicone is no longer used as filling.

I may be wrong, but if I recall, one of the new directions of breast implant research was toward a lighter material. The idea was that it would weigh something like 60% of current implants of the same volume. Somehow this would lead to fewer complications. Of course, the concept was especially exciting to us huge boob lovers, since it has the potential to lead to boobs of unprecedented size.

I will see if I can find the source again. But is anyone else familiar with this idea?

That's true. The injectable silicone would have to be cohesive.

Interesting! So NASA will have to solve our breast implants woes.  :)  Props to the dr for trying something new.
