Re: [minor] No Explicit Content
« Reply #30 on: January 11, 2016, 04:17:11 pm »
I had a lengthy and cogent response to the new policy that resurrects the centuries-old hypocrisy of determining what is "explicit", and why it is no longer "acceptable" here.

It's not very easy to define what is explicit clearly and in agreement with everyone.
Point is, we want to focus on aesthetics and not porn.

Quote
I cannot even add it to the discussion thread about this change, now located in the Pornstars subforum, which is now locked. But what would be the point? Freedom of expression has now been eliminated as "commercially unviable".

Well you're writing here right? And you can do so freely and openly, you can even start a new topic about it if you feel the need to.
Commercially unviable? I hope you realize this site never was and never will be a commercial entity.

Quote
Google ad redirects, and vague, contradictory and subjective female unease with expressions of sexual activity are now the replacement paradigms for what was once a forum of free expression.  Hero Members, Legendary Members and Donors have all contributed material for years which is now considered "explicit" and must be expunged. They did not have to "vet" their free expression on whether it was "politically correct" or not, only on the basis of whether it was "offensive".

We don't use google...
We never intended to be a porn site.
We are trying to get back to the 'core' of what we wanted tpb to be initially.
There are hundreds of porn forums where you can share and leech 'explicit' content at your hearts desire.

Quote
I know this policy is here to stay (at least foreseeably), but you should still provide the members with their opportunity to comment and respond.  Oh, wait, I forgot, only the "new" or "elite" memberships matter... never mind.

Everyone interested in reading, discussing and sharing information, experiences, ideas and non-explicit content related to breast augmentation or cosmetic enhancements in general is very welcome here. You can even talk politics or about your favorite new novel you got for Christmas this year.

We've always closely interacted with our users and love to hear their thoughts, this is just something that's been nagging us for years since we just went off-track  and the site became something we never wanted (read; becoming porn centered).

Kwuk,
Thanks very much for replying.  I agree basically with your points, about re-steering the forum away from principally being a porn-centric site. This is regardless of the issues of DMCA content, remote hosted content, and the Star subforum's exclusive content... which, since it requires paid access to, already classifies at least a sub-section of the forum as a pay-for-porn site, to the discretion of the Star contributors (unless you are going to ban explicit content there as well?).

I also agree that we want to continue to attract women here... both established professionals and amateurs considering enhancement... and all grades between, including camgirls.

I have been a member for many years, and I think the basic theme which has been the essential attraction from the beginning is that this is a place for the discussion and mutual admiration/worship/critique of breast implants and the women who have them (with the more recent addition of ass, lip, and other "enhancements", all of an unmistakably sexual nature). I am very glad that Star members and other women come here to engage the male members (NPI!!!), as it increases not only the excitement of direct communication for fans, but also "opens" and relaxes the discussion of enhancements and increases their acceptance and appreciation.

Many of the threads I followed and contributed to involved models who, in various stages, sought implants of increasing size and variety, and whose experiences or careers took them from modelling to nude work, to softcore/girl-girl work, to hardcore work both professional and candid, and some even to escorting.  I never had to consider whether following the threads for these girls would actually track their progress or be current or complete, on the basis of whether they were doing "hardcore" work. I think Amy Anderssen  (who now advertises on this site) is a good example: she progressed thru all these stages; and, aside from a transfer of a thread from one subforum to another, I always felt that I could see what she was up to from a single thread... not "hey guys, she made another porn vid! Go somewhere else and find about it..."

I do strongly agree that TPB has no need or desire to be another "porn download" site. DMCA issues aside, there are plenty of other places for that. I never came here for that, but a few pics can let me know if I need to do more hunting elsewhere for what I want. Iluvboobs, Azrael and other members routinely posted handfuls of images as informative aids, without the "whoops, is that a penis there, gee, better not post that one" paranoia.

I mostly agree w. Comrade Claus (except about the pirating, aargghh...), particularly about the idea of "segregating" the potentially offensive content to a separate subforum that anyone can decide to avoid or subscribe to.

i really hate to browse the models/amateurs sections and see explicit content here and there, that's what i hated the most. that and the fact i couldn't see non-explicit content of the camgirls or pornstars girl i like without having to skim through lots of explicit stuff. i really like the new "Adult Entertainers" for this! i can see soft content on the pornstars i like without my eyes bleeding!

if there is a way to keep this new way of separating things and still keep an explicit section for horny people, i'd be one to say okay it can be a compromise lol

I share your point of view Princess, I hate to see unexpected explicit contents.
Sexual relationship or closeup on pussy are unexpected in models/amateurs section.
I agree to see explicit content if I am informed that I will see explicit contents...
Already performed:
-Total labiaplasty + hoodectomy
-Definitiv pubic hair removal
-First breast augmentation (create pockets)
To be performed:
-Second breast augmentation (for projection)
-Diet+fitness

This is the admins white knighting, trying to appease the girls on the site, hoping that there will be more.
Guess what?  They all disappear anyway.  None of the "star members" have stuck around for more than a few straight years without disappearing - and not a single one has said "I'm so tired of the pornography on this board.  I'm leaving."

This place is dying, and this is one more nail in the coffin.

My $0.02

EDIT:  This is not me trying to say that we need more porn.  All I mean is that sex is an aspect of what a lot of people like, it is a draw, and based on the number of people who post/view those topics, I think it's clear that members appreciate it moreso than not.

We have explained our decisions at length. This has nothing to do with pleasing any specific group of people that may or may not visit this site.
TPB has become something we never intended it to become, a porn site.
We are rapidly moving away from that now, getting back to a community about breast augmentation and other cosmetic enhancements where people come to find and share information and experiences.

Fortunately for all of us who like to look at some boobs, we will maintain and improve the sections where we can share our favorite girls pictures and videos. It makes no sense to us to take that away since it's all about looks.

What does make sense is removing porn from the site, the internet is full of porn, hundreds of tube pages and forums dedicated to porn sharing, i'm sure everyone that has the need for porn can find it elsewhere. We add nothing to it. We even still allow topics on camgirls and pornstars (see adult entertainers section), and you're free to talk about their new content and give some hints on where to find it, just don't share the explicit content here. Cutting a non-explicit piece out of a video and sharing it isn't a big deal i think.

Members come and go, male, female, starmembers or regulars, it doesn't matter. Nobody is required or asked to stay here,  it's a free and open community.
Forum activity has been steady throughout the past few years and into the new year, the only place it's "dying" seems to be in your own personal experience.

In fact, the very logo of the site is of a naked pornstar.  I believe it's based on Aletta Ocean.  What a great irony that under the new rules, you'll probably need to nuke most of her thread.

You can check out that theory for yourself, she has a thread here you know. 20 pages post-"nuke", compared to 44 before. So roughly half of it was porn, and got removed. Hardly "most of her thread", is it? The real irony is you trying to use the logo as an argument considering it's a nude woman, seen from the waist up, not EVEN showing her genitals, all of which are very much within the new "draconian" rules.

Well... things change.

Well, yes, exactly. Porn has been the status quo of TPB for years now, and things are changing.

And I'm a bit confused as to why people are using TPB for porn anyways, there are far better options out there, porn-wise.

Just to clarify:

Am I right in thinking we can upload porn links to other porn sites but not porn photos or vid shots?.

Also, we can upload nude pics of women but not explicit ones (open pussy etc.)?.
It was a very cold day when my profile pic was taken! A self confessed Female Muscle Aholic UK based guy, into Bodybuilding & Addicted to lifting metal!. :))

SO many women, SO little time!!!, :))))

@I_Love_Silicone

The logo is not inspired by Aletta Ocean, that was Veronika Zemanova. Regardless of her career in the adult entertainment industry, the logo itself does not depict anything pornographic, and apparently people don't even know who was the inspiration for the sketch anyway.

Our basic vision should be very clear from our frontpage, which has been there for many years. We also had many open discussions about it in the forum and chat.

The explicit content has been split off from the rest for a while now but keeping it would still keep this essentially a porn-site. We also believe that getting rid of the explicit content will improve our goal of building an interactive community about cosmetic surgery, right now the lurker-count is extremely high (i posted numbers in another topic), a lot of people seem to come here solely for the purpose of fapping to the latest porn releases, not what we intended and worse, it works adversary to what we actually want it to be.
I believe having a significant portion of the website revolving around pornography causes more objectification of women than we'd like to see around here. Something that we don't think helps build and maintain a healthy balanced userbase.

We believe that we add to the 'vastness' of the internet by offering an open community where people enthusiast about cosmetic surgery can talk and share about it and are treated equal and with respect.
But we have JBI, you may say; We do, but it's a one-sided (female only) closed community with very strict rules that doesn't allow for criticism of surgeons, a little side discussion or conflicting opinions.
But we have BEA, you may say; Don't even get me started, the policy BEA applies is complete rubbish and not constructive in any way. That site was the very reason we started TPB. Plus we focus on enhanced ladies and not big naturals as they tend to do a lot.
But we have real-self, you may say; Sure do, it can be a good resource to get 101 conflicting opinions of medical experts without any argumentation. It's not a community, it's a place to Q&A with 'experts'.

The way i see it all these sites add something different to the vastness of the internet, sure there are overlapping facets but each have their own way of going about things and doing what they intend to do, we are no different in that.

Again, discussion about adult entertainers and sharing news about their new products is still allowed here but you'll have to get the content from the original source or at your own risk on other forums.

We will not allow links to pornhub for example (yes yes i know there are still lots on here, still working on cleaning things, it's a lot of work..), but you can say for example "You can find this new clip of her on pornhub if you search this or that", everybody will be able to find what you wanted to share.
If it's not pornographic in nature i recommend you upload it to a non-porn host and share that instead :)
It's also a small effort to cut scenes out of porn and share just that non-explicit scene with the forum.

I'm sorry, but those sections for "Pornstars" and "Camgirls" that are now deemed not to be in the original "vision" for the board... And which only exist because things got out of hand and need to be reigned in?

Who made those sections in the first place?  Who created all of the sub-boards that are so extremely offensive?
Oh, right.  The very same people who now act like they are disgusted.  Now, tell me how that makes sense...

KD and Indy aren't superhuman, aren't they allowed to realize they made mistakes and let the board go in a direction they now regret? And please show me some quotes of them calling those sections "extremely offensive" or being disgusted, I have a hard time believing you'll find any. They're not doing it for themselves, they're doing it to steer the site into the direction it was, in their eyes, made to be.

We still have room for the pornstars and camgirls in the adult entertainers section. We are not disgusted by them or the content they create (read; porn), however, we do feel that it has a negative overall effect on what we want this community to be and how people interact with it, hence we get rid of the specific explicit content. All non explicit content will still be very welcome here.

We want this community to be as open and free as possible so we want to feature these models, we never thought (you could blame us for that...) the amount of porn that would be shared would be of such great volumes.
