READ BEFORE POSTING NEW TOPIC!!! *Reverse image search*
« on: May 30, 2012, 12:39:05 pm »
There are many unknown girls on images that you find online, but as you can understand, we can't have a thread for every picture on the internet.

This is why we want you to do a best effort on identifying the girl yourself before posting here.
It's quite easy to do actually by using Google Image Search.
Many people don't know you can actually select a url or upload a picture to Google, and Google will find the matching pictures and give you extra information.
It's so easy, just press the button I marked on the picture below.

This would help you find the name of the girl and then you can actually post her in the real thread.
Do search for her name in our search box first to avoid duplicate threads.

Not performing a best effort search on the girl prior to posting here and/or not using our search function resulting in duplicate threads will require us to take actions against you.
We all want a clean and searchable forum, you're all responsible in making it happen, keep that in mind.

Also, Indy forgot to mention that while google reverse image search will usually and is most likely to produce more results, if you end up NOT finding any results with google,

also try:

http://www.tineye.com

90% of the time if google finds you any results, you're not going to get any benefit by also searching tineye. however, for those times when google doesn't find anything, you still have a slight chance at finding your results with tineye, so check BOTH.

In honor of their 25th birthday, it looks like Google has removed the ability to search against either an uploaded image, or even a web URL!! ...rendering their image search practically worthless!! I tried many international domains (eg., google.ca, google.uk, mexico, france, you name it) and it's gone across the globe.

Does anyone know if this is a temporary issue or if it's gone for good?

Still seems to work.
What sucks balls is that their regular image search has banned nudity and porn since a couple of months, even though it was only available when you activated the search for mature content before.

The next best thing is bing which still has the mature content option for the time being - but who uses them?

OOPS! My mistake... it seems that Google very quietly stopped supporting IE 8 for it's more "advanced" search features (eg., reverse or URL search), without telling anyone!  It still works fine in IE 9+, Firefox, etc.  They obviously just disabled the download of that scripting when IE8 is detected.  Maybe another half-assed attempt at forcing Chrome on everyone... not so good for XP "hangers-on" (like my notebook) who cannot upgrade IE beyond v8...

Basic Tips for image search

For a very basic level, in google chrome, you can right click the image and select 'Search Google for this image' and the image will be brought in search. (provided only if the image is in the <img> tag)

Sometimes you might not able to 'Search Google for this image' or download the image by right click, such as instagram, etc. If you can't select the image that you seen by using 'Search Google for this image', then the image is written in another form without the <img> tag, which could be <div style="background:url(____);"></div>, or in other html forms.

In order to overcome this in google chrome, just right click on the image, select 'Inspect element', it will bring you straight to the html form of the particular image, you will normally see a underlined link in blue, and when you mouseover the link, it will show the small pop-up of the image with a detail of the size of the image. Click that link, and open that image in a new tab, NOW you can use the 'Search Google for this image' selection using right click.
P.S. This might not work for some cases for more advanced html codes.

If the above method didn't work, another way is to go to 'Inspect Element' by right click anywhere of the page, click on the 'Resources' on the top, and find the 'Images' section on the left sidebar. (Usually, it is under Frames --> folder(website) --> Images). Inside 'Images', you will find lots of images on the list, just click the first one, and slowly use your down arrow on the keyboard to go through the image one by one until you found the image that you are looking for, open it on the new tab and perform the 'Search Google for this image' by right click.

Another way is to make a screenshot of that image, save it on your computer file, and go to Google Images, and upload that image to google images manually and the image search will be performed.

there are many other ways.

the identification of a girl using this method sometimes might works, sometimes not might work, or even sometimes it gives you a wrong result.

I wanted to do some digging on a busty female that had posted photos of her two strenghts on a forum. However, using Google reverse image search I couldn't get any results so I soon decided to turn to experts.

Which one would be the most effective application at the moment (if we're talking about e.g. an image taken and uploaded from a mobile/cell phone)?

Not great news. FaceCheck is no longer free starting March 1st. https://facecheck.id/

Google image search sometimes works but usually not. I've found TinEye to be pretty unhelpful. Yandex is okay but not even close to helpful as FaceCheck, which works a surprising amount of the time. PimEyes of course seems powerful but costs like $30 a month.

Has anyone found any resource that's as effective as FaceCheck that they'd recommend?
